Decisions, Outcomes, and a Few Honest Mistakes

Anyone can show you a product. What's harder to find is someone who'll tell you what actually happened when a client chose it, including the times it didn't go as planned. Here are a few real projects, real decisions, and what I'd tell you if you were sitting across the table from me.

Real examples of branded merchandise we’ve produced for clients over the years. All client names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are shown here solely to highlight our work.

Equilife Summer Cooler Tote

Case Study: The Summer Cooler Tote

Client / Industry: Health & Wellness

The Ask: A high-end giveaway for summer.

The Decision: We looked at a range of options and landed on a large cooler tote with a fun splash print, designed with the client and sourced overseas for better customization and pricing.

The Outcome: Both the client and their customers loved it. Overseas sourcing took longer than domestic would have, but the level of customization and the price point made the tradeoff worth it.

Case Study: The 25th Anniversary Gift

Client / Industry: Commercial Real Estate

The Ask: A high-end giveaway for summer.

The Decision: After reviewing several options, we landed on a high-end engraved camping mug.

The Outcome: The client and their recipients loved the final product. The honest part: too many people were involved in the decision, and the direction kept changing, which stretched out the timeline. A lesson in why a clear decision-maker matters as much as the product itself.

teacher appreciation blanket

Case Study: The Teacher Appreciation Blanket

Client / Industry: Education

The Ask: Teacher appreciation gifts that felt seasonal and useful, not another mug.

The Decision: A high-end embroidered fleece blanket, timed to the season and genuinely useful.

The Outcome: A gift teachers actually kept and used, which was the whole point.

Case Study: Massage & Wellness Gift Set

Client / Industry: Health & Wellness

The Ask: Giveaways for every customer, plus a small retail line customers could purchase on their own.

The Decision: A branded spa gift set, a silk sleep mask, a skeleton-hand back scratcher, and a bag of chocolate-covered almonds, all under their Alpha Massage & Wellness logo.

The Outcome: Customers love it, and the client has reordered the items.

Equilife Frother Tumbler
Village Bank Pen

Case Study: The Pen That Keeps Getting Reordered

Client / Industry: Banking

The Ask: A pen that would last, look good, and work as both a giveaway and something a client could actually sign documents with, at a specific price point and ink color.

The Decision: We sourced it overseas, which meant a longer production window, and it took some real digging to land on the right pen.

The Outcome: Worth the search. The client reorders these pens every few months because their customers genuinely love them.

Case Study: The Welcome Set

Client / Industry: Commercial Real Estate

The Ask: A high-end welcome gift for new residents and for people renting boat slips, needed to feel premium and completely cohesive across every piece.

The Decision: A coordinated set, a striped canvas tote, navy and white water bottles, lip balm, pens, and a towel, all carrying the same Portside Ventura Harbor branding so the whole set reads as one considered gift rather than a pile of separate items.

The Outcome: Residents loved it.
